Beaver Dam, WI — February 2026 — United Cooperative announced today that it has acquired ALCIVIA’s south region agronomy business, expanding United Cooperative’s agronomy footprint and strengthening its ability to serve producers across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

The acquisition includes ALCIVIA agronomy facilities and assets located in Evansville, Genoa City, and Union Grove, along with the Markesan location, where agronomy and grain operations are closely integrated and will transition together to United Cooperative.

This strategic investment aligns with United Cooperative’s long-term growth plan and commitment to delivering trusted agronomy services, innovative crop input solutions, and strong local relationships to its member-owners and customers.

“We are excited to welcome these locations, employees, and customers to United Cooperative,” said David Cramer, President and CEO of United Cooperative. “This acquisition reflects our shared cooperative values and our commitment to providing high-quality agronomic expertise, reliable service, and long-term value for farmers in the region.”

United Cooperative and ALCIVIA worked closely throughout the transition process to ensure continuity of service for customers and a smooth onboarding experience for employees. United Cooperative was selected as the buyer due to its proven agronomy capabilities, financial strength, and alignment with ALCIVIA’s focus on protecting member and employee interests while ensuring ongoing agronomic excellence.

“This transaction represents more than a transfer of assets — it’s the beginning of a collaborative relationship between the two cooperatives,” Cramer added. “We look forward to building on the trusted relationships already established at these locations and continuing to support growers with the service and solutions they rely on.”
Customers at the transitioning locations can expect uninterrupted agronomy services and access to United Cooperative’s full portfolio of crop inputs, agronomic expertise, and support resources.

As we begin another busy “Spring Season,” an essential business practice for your cooperative is to review customer accounts that have unpaid amounts 60 days or more past due.

Thank you to patron members who have taken advantage of input finance options or bank loans to prepay for products and services. There are enough issues with weather, machinery breakdowns, and other factors, and you won’t have to worry about how to pay for items needed, as you are well prepared.

The grain market in the Upper Midwest as of May 2026 is characterized as a period of volatility.  Corn futures are currently following a classic seasonal pattern.  Harvest lows were set in late October reflecting a large US corn crop, harvest pressure and farmer selling. Physical supply simply overwhelmed near-term demand during this time.

With summer just around the corner, now is the time to plan your propane supply for next winter’s heating needs. The most recent winter brought average to below-average temperatures and saw strong demand for propane. Propane exports are still up and will affect supply moving forward; over the past year, over 64% of our country’s propane was exported, mainly to distant countries in the far east, for the production of plastics.
