What is a cooperative?
Cooperatives are businesses organized by people to provide needed goods and services. They are owned by the people who use their services and provide economic benefits to their members. At United Cooperative, we distribute all profits back to our patron members.
There are four types of cooperatives: consumer, producer, worker, and purchasing/shared services.
There are more than 29,000 cooperatives in the United States with Americans holding 350 million cooperative memberships.
